Elvira Chavez (Nena) 1913-2011 Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2011. Vera was born in Puertecito NM in 1913 to Lorenzo and Agapita Chavez. She married Bennie Chavez on Januaray 1, 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bennie; two brothers, Carlos and John; and one sister Rosa; Also her children, Richard, Steve, Eduples, Viola Felix, Alice Romero; grandchildren, Gilbert Felix, Peter Santillanes and Valerie Sena. She is survived by her daughters, Agatha Baker, Deluvina Martinez, and Dorothy Sena. She was especially fond of her grandson Randy, who was like a son to her and her great-granddaughter Nicole Thais for the loving care she bestowed on her final days here on earth. She is survived by 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Nena will be missed by all who's lives she touched. The never-ending pot of beans and chili(red or green) and those wonderful homemade tortillas that everyone enjoyed all those Sundays. All the quilts everyone's children were wrapped in on those cold winter nights. All the burritos, Love and advice she gave so freely. And who could forget those wonderful empanaditas. You will be missed by all our little Nena. Till we meet again in Heaven, all our Love-Your Whole Family. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Everlasting Light Baptist Church, 475 Coors Blvd NW, suite L, Albuq. NM
