Stella Herrera, 73, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011. She was born and raised in Cedro, NM and lived in Carnuel, NM. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Eufemia Griego; daughter, Yvonne Garcia. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Augustine Herrera; children, Vivian Salcido and husband Joe, Bessie Herrera and Sonny Maez, Jerry Herrera and wife Isabel and Sam Herrera; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Louie Griego and wife Ernestine, Eva Garcia and husband Rosendo and Harry Griego; numerous nephews; nieces and other family and friends who loved her and will miss her. Services will be held at Holy Child Catholic Church in Tijeras. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Child Catholic Cemetery in Carnuel, NM. Pallbearers will be Dave Barela, Ernest Barela, Anthony Barela, Sam Herrera Jr., Ray Barela and Philip Chavez.
