Obituary for GALLEGOS

Aurelio "Al" Gallegos, 69, went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2011 after a long illness. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy. He is survived by his wife Molly; his daughter Andrea and husband John Romero; son David and wife Amy Gallegos; stepdaughters Debbie, and husband BJ Schwaner, Lisa and husband Alan Robertson, and Gina and husband Jeff Grothaus. Papa will be lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren, Bambi, Gobolo, Gajube, his four Dawgs and his Monkey; his sisters Lily, and husband Delfido, Celita Montano, Frieda Alderette, Evelyn Ortiz, Gloria Chacon, Martha and husband Alfonzo Abeyta; brother Walter and wife Epi Gallegos, and his sister-in-law Mercy Atencio. Al was a avid Dallas Cowboy fan, self proclaimed fish whisperer, and professional grandpa. If Al didn't know your name or better yet, didn't like your name, he gave you one you would remember the rest of your life. He served honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Rosary will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Daniels Family Funeral Services 7601 Wyoming NE. Viewing begins at 6:00 pm with the Rosary following at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday February 2nd at St Thomas Aquina, 1502 Sara Rd SE Rio Rancho at 10:30 am. Pallbearers will be BJ Schwaner, Carl Fitzgerald, Robert Lopez, Al Candelaria, Nestor Montano, and Tom Gallegos. Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Abeyta, Renard Ortiz, Walter Gallegos, Robert Garcia, Gene Gallegos, and Randy Chacon. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
