Betty Mae. In loving memory. She was born in Kansas to Frank and Nina Sparman on February 9, 1924. She went to be with our Lord on January 19, 2011. Formerly of Albuquerque and Belen New Mexico, she was currently residing in Newbury Park, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Nina; her sister, Wanda; brother, Charles; sister, Lois; and by her loving and devoted husband, Vernis Devon Gilbert. She leaves behind her loving children, Christopher Kent Gilbert and grandson, Christopher James Gilbert; her daughter, Debra Anne Dimas (husband Jimmie); granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Otero Pacheco; great-grandchildren, Debra Alexandra Anne Otero, Ezra Abraham Otero, Mia Isabel Esperanza Otero; and great- great- grandson, Josiah "Little Bear" Gavin Otero. Her sister, Mitzi Rivera (husband Rambert); brother, Phil Sparman (wife Marylon) all of Truth of Consequences New Mexico. Sister Judy Lucario of Costa Mesa California; several nieces, nephews and many friends. A service celebrating her life will be held this spring when she is brought back to Belen by her son. The celebration will be held at St. Philips Episcopal Church and she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
