Obituary for CAVIS

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday January 23, 2011

Stanley Alfred Cavis, a well known resident of Albuquerque, passed away on January 21, 2011. He is preceded in death by his Loving Mother Lucille, and Father Allan W. Cavis. Born May 29, 1950, Stan epitomized the typical "American Boy". Growing up with six younger brothers, Robert, Buckley, Leslie, Wesley, Gerald, and James. Stan had to set the example. He was a cool "Elvis Type Cat", who played sports, rode motor cycles, played guitar, and ran with the "boys". He had to be a fighter, protector, provider, and role model. He was all of this and more. Stan you will surely be missed, moreover, the world will miss a special dude. He has always led, and even in death, he has led us to a better understanding of pride, drive, compassion, family unity, faith, love and God. Stan is survived by his love, Jan Abugharbieh, his children Scott, Theodore, Brandon, and Alexa, his six brothers, and a huge following of friends. Stan worked with VIP's Restaurant, Trailway's, and University Volkswagen. Thanks Jack, and special thanks to Roy, Randy, Larry, James, Ed, and Chris. Stan, a Christian, belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. Heaven just got a little "Cooler". A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 24th at Haines Street Chape LDS, 5709 Haines Ave. NE. Online condolences can be submitted at www.danielsfuneral.com.
