Obituary for MCANANY

Mary "Rita" McAnany, age 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, was called home to Jesus on January 15, 2011. Rita is survived by her five daughters, Mary Randolph and husband Jeff of Omaha, NE, Maggie McKillip and her husband Jim of Albuquerque, Helen McAnany of Las Vegas, NV and friend Yvonne Randall, Maureen Duran and her husband Jerry of Omaha, NE, Berni Sivage and her husband Kevin of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Bunnie Kizer and her husband Bill, Kitty Lomatch, Ed Reinhardt and his wife Pat, and Jim Reinhardt; many nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her husband, "Red"; and her brother, John Reinhardt. Rita joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1944 and served in Santa Barbara, CA. Rita learned the carpentry trade that she used throughout her life, making wooden toys and furniture for children, which she donated to various children's hospitals and charitable youth organizations. The rosary will be prayed on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 7:00, at French-Westside Chapel, with Deacon Steve Rangel officiating. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 20, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW, with Father John Daniel as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rita's grandchildren.
