Dr. Clarence R. Mehl, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1954, slipped away peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn; children Karen Bush and husband Andrew; Nina Mehl; and Ian Mehl and wife Lori; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Clarence served in the US Army during World War II. He received his BS degree from Montana State University and his PhD in theoretical physics from Lehigh University and retired from Sandia National Laboratories after 37 years.
