Obituary for DUNNE

Frances Dunne, 102, passed away suddenly at her home on January 11, 2011. A 16 year resident of Albuquerque, Frances loved the west and the beautiful mountains of New Mexico. She spent her childhood in Queens, NY. Her early adult life in St. Albans, NY and her later adult life in Bethpage, NY, before moving west to Albuquerque. Frances was preceded in death by two husbands, Edwin Johnson and Daniel Dunne, Sr. and three step children from her first marriage. She leaves behind her daughter Susan and son-in-law Daniel Dunne, Jr.; grandson, Evan Dunne and wife Tracey; great-grandson Aidan; 18 step-children; and step-great-grandchildren. Frances was the youngest of ten children born to German immigrants Fred and Kathryn Schiefer. She was a survivor of the 1918 flu epidemic that ravaged much of the world. She was a long term adult Girl Scout volunteer who was a dedicated worker in that organization for 50 years. She will be greatly missed by her family as she was greatly loved. She was a unique and wonderful lady. Friends may visit French ~ Lomas Chapel on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at French ~ Lomas Chapel on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
