Tommy Arthur Massey, 67, of Estancia, NM passed away in Albuquerque, NM on Friday, January 7, 2011. Tommy was born on October 31, 1943 in Mayhill, NM to Floyd and Ruby Pearl (Denson) Massey. Tommy lived in Estancia for the past 52 years having previously lived in Weed, NM. He married Shirley Thiessen on June 17, 1962 in Palomas, Mexico. Tommy was a long time member of the NM Drillers Association and the National Groundwater Association. He drilled thousands of water wells in the past six decades. Tommy raised great children and grandchildren and was friendly and patient with everyone he met. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ruby Massey; three brothers, Benny, Joe and Dave Massey; and one sister, Marilyn Adkison. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley (Thiessen) Massey of the family home in Estancia, NM; son, Tommy W. and his wife Penny Massey of Estancia, NM; daughters, Pamela K. Massey of Estancia, NM and Susan and her husband Ralph Bishop of Estancia, NM; brothers, James F. Massey of Estancia, NM; and Gerald and his wife Debbie Massey, of Estancia, NM; sisters, Maxine and her husband Kenneth Clark of Brighton, IL and Patsy and her husband Bob Johnson of Moriarty, NM; nine grandchildren; and seven great - grandchildren. There will be a public viewing at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at the Estancia Middle School Gym with Runnel Riley officiating. Pallbearers will be Ralph Bishop, Donn Massey, Brian Massey, Jerod Massey, Sam Massey and Matthew Massey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Massey, Luke Massey, Joey Massey, Angela Ferguson, Ashley Bishop, Krystall Massey, Candice Massey, Charlotte Seay, Betty Massey, Chad Seay, Roger Meyer, Kevin Edwards, Randy Ferguson and Loran Howe. Burial will follow the service at Estancia Memorial Cemetery in Estancia, NM.
