Obituary for RIDER

Marion Rider, 98, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010. She is survived by son Allan Rider and daughter- in- law Debbie, of Albuquerque; daughter Kathy Solomon and son-in-law Brian of Sandia Park; daughter Mary Crockett and son-in-law Fred of Casper, Wyoming; seven grandchildren, Gen Canada and husband Roy, Jason Solomon and wife Jennifer, Sarah Erb and husband Christian, Joshua Rider and wife Rebecca, Sue Crockett, James Crockett, and Leanna Crockett; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jenna and Justin Solomon; Andrew, Jessica and Olivia Canada; and Isaiah Erb. Marion was born in Pennsylvania in 1912, and moved to Kansas City, Kansas with her family around 1915. Her family moved to New Mexico in the 1930's due to her mother's poor health. Marion met Harold in Sandia Park where they were married in 1940 and together raised three children. Marion was active in her church and community, and was the treasurer of the Community Church of the Sandia's for over 20 years. Marion always had a great love of reading, and had a large collection of books. Her children all attribute their love of reading to her example. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011, 4:00 p.m., at French, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Roy Canada officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bible of the Month Club, or World Vision. Cremation has already taken place.
