Carol Lynn Huey, 69, beloved wife of retired Colonel Frank M. Huey, USAF, passed away Tuesday evening January 4, 2011 in Mesquite, Nevada. Born in Monessen, PA on July 22, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel Kachmarik. She is survived by her husband, Frank; brother, Jack Kachmarik of Pittsburgh; aunt Peggy Chacko of Charleroi, PA; and cousins, nieces and nephews. Carol graduated from Monessen High School in 1959 and Douglas Business School. While employed by the U.S. Foreign Service at the U.S. Embassy in Manila, Philippines in 1965, Carol met and married Frank Huey. They lived together happily for 45 years, serving our country together in the Philippines, Thailand, Spain and Iran. Carol served as secretary to the US Ambassador in Chad, Africa and also worked for the US Peace Corps in Washington, D.C. She traveled extensively as part of her career to Switzerland, France and Tunsia, as well as other personal travel to India, Afghanistan, Napal and Bali. Friends may visit Monday, January 10, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at French ~ Lomas Chapel. Services will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at French ~ Lomas Chapel. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carol's name to the charity of your choice.
