Obituary for ASHCRAFT

Mary Esther Ashcraft, age 103, of Albuquerque, NM, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. She was born March 17, 1907, in Jackson City, MI. Esther was predeceased by her husband, William Joseph Ashcraft, in 1980; and nephew, David Fellows in 2010. She is survived by a nephew, Richard Fellows and wife, Bonnie, of Louisville, KY; four great-nieces, Robin Nusbaum, of El Segundo, CA, Melissa George, of West Sussex, England, Susan Fellows, Citra, FL, and Rebecca Woods, of Louisville, KY; and one great-nephew, Jonathan Fellows, of Ann Arbor, MI; Her Albuquerque family includes a niece, Lois Hatley; and nephews, Clarence Ashcraft and wife, Jean, and Ernest Ashcraft and wife, Dorothy; Other survivors include sisters-in-law, Gertrude Henderson and Mae Ashcraft, of Winchester, KY, as well as other extended family members. Esther and her husband, Joe, moved to Albuquerque in 1943. She worked for Civil Service, Atomic Support Agency from 1951 to 1971. She was a charter member of Ridgecrest Christian Church, of Albuquerque and a 50 year member of Desert Rose #70, Order of Eastern Star. Cremation has taken place and cremains will be interred in Winchester, KY, next to her husband. The family expresses grateful appreciation to Casa de Rosa Assisted Living Facility and Hospice of NM for the wonderful care and love given to Esther. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Albuquerque, Christian Children's Home, 5700 Winter Haven Rd.
