Obituary for ALLSHOUSE

Helen M. Allshouse, 93, went to be with the lord on January 5, 2011. She was born in Timberville, Virginia on April 29, 1917 to Robert and Lucy Miller and was one of 11 children. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Charles C. Allshouse; five brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Begay and husband D'Wayne of Albuquerque; sister, Betty Skiffington of Fairfax, Virginia; brother Nelson Miller and wife Bernice of Edinburg, Virginia, and many nephews and nieces. Helen graduated from Strayer Business College in 1941, and worked at the Pentagon for the Department of the Navy for 25 years. She met and married Charlie Allshouse at Grace Reform Church in Washington, DC in 1957. They lived in many places due to Charlie's job with the Air Force's Patent Law Office, including Arlington, VA, Los Angeles, CA, Albuquerque, NM, and Dayton, OH. She has lived in Albuquerque for the past 13 years. Helen loved spending time with family and friends, watching tennis, playing Skipbo and eating chocolate. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE, Albuquerque.
