Obituary for COFFEY

Charles Thornton Coffey, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1978, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010. He is survived by his five children, Jana Bauer of Albuquerque, Julie Wray and husband, Dr. Stephen Wray of Albuquerque, Kristi Jenkins and husband, Will of Denver, CO, Kenneth Coffey of Las Vegas, NM and Sean Coffey and wife, Tracy of Eugene, OR; five grandchildren, Vince Coffey, Devon Aragon, Ryan Bauer, Jordan Wray, and Michael Coffey; sister, Shirley Gates of Salem, OR; and other relatives and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Coffey; and son, Vincent Coffey. He was born on January 31, 1929 in Salem, Oregon and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Charles then went into the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He met and married Doris Etzel in Salem, OR and they moved to Albuquerque in 1978. Chuck worked in the lumber industry in several states and retired from Willamette Industries in 1992. He was a member of Mustangs of America and owned several award winning Mustangs. Charles was a loving father, grandfather, and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Rosary will be recited at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service in Salem, OR on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Salem, OR on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Barbara's Cemetery.
