Obituary for ULLERY

Neil Billings Ullery, Sr., 89, died Saturday, December 18, 2010. He was born February 24, 1921 in a ranching community near Roswell, NM. A member of The Greatest Generation, he joined the US Navy during WWII and honorably served his country till war's end. While serving in the Navy he met his future wife of 50 years, Wenona. They married in 1946. Neil spent most of his adult years working as an accountant/ comptroller in the Construction business. He worked for Lembke Construction Co. in Albuquerque from 1960 till 1991. He was an avid baseball fan. He didn't have a favorite team, just wanted to watch a "good" game. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wenona, in 1996; and a brother, Jim Ullery Jr. He is survived by his children, Neil Ullery Jr. and his wife, Julie; daughter, Joni Ullery; a sister, Eleanor; sister-in-law, Ruth; and extended family and friends who loved and will miss him. Neil was known for his integrity and honesty in business and personal matters. He was an old fashioned man who honored his commitments and was a true and loyal friend. He will be missed. The lessons he taught us will live on in the life of each of us. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to a charity of your choice or to The Baseball Hall of Fame, 25 Main St. Cooperstown, New York 13326. Cremation has taken place.
