Obituary for PARKER

Kum Cha Parker, 68, a resident of Albuquerque for 30 years, died Sunday, December 19, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Parker; son Robert Parker of Chandler, AZ; brother, Song In Sul; and four sisters, Song Young Ja, Song Min Ja, Song Jung Suk, and Song Yang Im, all of South Korea; her beloved miniature poodle Brownie; and numerous other relatives and friends. Kum Cha was born on June 4, 1942 in Youngham, South Korea and met Bruce when he was stationed in South Korea with the United States Air Force. They lived in South Korea, Tucson, AZ, and Elizabeth City, NC before moving to Albuquerque. Kum Cha was an active member of the Korean United Methodist Church in Albuquerque for more than 25 years. She was an avid gardener and contributed flower arrangements to her church each Sunday. Kum Cha was a loving wife, mother and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at the Korean United Methodist Church, 601 Tyler Rd. NE, Wednesday, December 22, 2010, 11:00 a.m. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kum Cha's name to the Korean United Methodist Church, 601 Tyler Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113.
