Obituary for HENARD

Ann Carolyn Henard, born May 23, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on December 15, 2010 after a long battle with cancer in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was the daughter of Ted and Knottie Tritt and was preceded in death by her brother, Ronny Tritt. Her final internment will be in a family plot at Calvary Cemetery in Louisville, KY. She first married in August 1958 to Jesse Davis Turley, III in Louisville, KY, a career military officer, and together they had four children; Terry Barnett (Austin, TX), Ellen Dufault (Albuquerque, NM), Jesse D. Turley, IV, (Tijeras, NM) and Ronny Turley (Poulsbo, WA). She is survived by her present spouse of 18 years, Silas H. Henard, retiree from the Bureau of Indian Affairs; She leaves behind seven wonderful grandchildren, Kerri and Jason Dufault, Matthew, Zachary and Amanda Turley, Alexis and JD Turley. Ann graduated from Nazareth College in Louisville, KY with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology. After raising her children, she restarted her career at The Reference Laboratory Inc. in Albuquerque and retired in 1990. Besides family, she had many passions in her life. She acquired a pilot instructor's license flying Cessnas during the 70's and participated in the cross-continental Powder Puff Derby. She enjoyed traveling throughout the world with a special fondness for Hawaii and the British Isles. She also loved the game of golf participating in several associations and many tournaments. Big Bertha was her favorite club. A family and friends reception will be held at French Mortuary located at 10500 Lomas Blvd NE (near Eubank) at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 18, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be given to the American Cancer Society. She was an inspiration to her family and will be dearly missed. ~You cannot judge a tree or person by only one season. The essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.
