Obituary for BOEHNING

Dolores Marie Boehning went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 13, 2010 at home in Eagar, Arizona with family by her side, just 6 days short of her 87th birthday. Dolores was born on December 18, 1923 in Youngstown, Ohio, to Joseph and Cecelia Zimmer. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico with her family in 1946, and resided there for 51 years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Albert W. Boehning Jr.; and brother Richard Zimmer of Huron, Ohio. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Dolores was a retired legal secretary, and executive secretary to the president of Mountain States Mutual Casualty Co. in Albuquerque. After becoming widowed, she moved to rural Eastern Arizona to live with her daughter in 1997. She was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Albuquerque and of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Springerville, AZ. She supported many causes locally, nationally, and world-wide, including various Christian and pro-Life ministries, animal humane societies, natural food cooperatives, and political action committees for conservative values. She is survived by her daughter Monica Boehning, Eagar, AZ; sisters, Eileen Lynch and Cecile Gerken, both of Albuquerque, and Benita Zimmer, Las Vegas, NM; brother Ray Zimmer (Barbara), Las Vegas, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews; Dolores will also be missed by two loyal family dogs. A Rosary will be held Saturday, December 19, 2010 at 4:00 p.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Church, 7701 Wyoming NE, in Albuquerque, NM. Dolores' funeral will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW in Albuquerque, on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery beside her husband, at 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. "We love you, Diz. Your reunion with loved ones gone before us must be awesome."
