Carol Kennicott, 76, of Sandia Park, NM and Surprise, AZ, passed away on November 29, 2010. Carol, nee Simon, was born in Salt Lake City, and a long-time resident of Schenectady, NY. She was a volunteer docent at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science's Naturalist Center where she especially enjoyed working with children. She was also a Rape Crisis Counselor, a Court Appointed Special Advocate and a Literacy Volunteer. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Philip R. Kennicott; and her children, Helen K. Baca and her husband Thomas Baca of Albuquerque, Dr. Karen S. Kennicott and her husband Jim Sells, of Corrales, NM, Lisa Kennicott of Edgewood, NM, and Philip L. Kennicott of Washington, DC; and seven grandchildren. The family asks any donations in her memory be made to the University of New Mexico Cancer Center (UNM Cancer Center Development Office; MSC07 4025; 1 University of New Mexico; Albuquerque, NM 87131-0001).
