Mary L. Jones, more affectionately known by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Memo, 84, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Mary was born on August 26, 1926 in Helena, AR. Her family moved to southern New Mexico when she was ten. She and Lowell Jones raised a family and farmed in the Hatch Valley for nearly 45 years. Mary maintained residence at the family farm for several years after the death of her husband. She then moved to Albuquerque to be closer to her daughters. She had a long, fruitful and happy life. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Jones; her brother, Jopy Holden; and sisters, Eufala Willis and Margie Stevens. She is survived by her daughters, Margie Bass and husband, Tom, and Johnnie Rhuve Puckett, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jason Bass and partner, Pilar West of Santa Fe, Derril Puckett, Tammi Miller and husband, Matt of Cheyenne, WY, Bill Hudgens and wife, Ariana of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Samuel Bass, Kaidence Puckett, Chance, Wyatt, Parker, Austin, and Halie Miller, and Aaron and Morgan Hudgens; as well as several nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and too many friends to name. Mary requested a simple cremation and only a celebration of life with her friends and family at her home, Saturday, December 4, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. Her ashes are to be scattered on the family farm to be united with those of her loving husband. May she and daddy waltz across heaven as they waltzed together so beautifully in life.
