Obituary for YOAKUM

Randal Jean Yoakum, 79, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on November 20, 2010. He was born on March 3, 1931, in Tulsa, OK. He came to Albuquerque in 1939 from Newton, Kansas, with his parents, Oscar and Varoqua Yoakum. He attended Monte Vista Elementary, Jefferson Jr. High and Albuquerque High Schools. He married Sarah Alice Craig and joined the Air Force in 1950. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sarah Alice Craig Yoakum; four children and their spouses: Kaylynn and Bill Holloman, Randal Craig and Jane (Lovato) Yoakum, Jeannette (Jeanne) and Curtis Bay, and Mitch and Terri (Pesce) Yoakum; and seven grandchildren: Tiffany (Holloman) and spouse Rich Richardson, Chase Holloman, Joel Holloman, Randal Dean Yoakum, Jenilyn Yoakum, and Asher Bay; and four great-grandchildren: Jack, Luke, Cole, and Cora Richardson. He was preceded in death by his oldest granddaughter Jayme Suzanne (Nicholson-Holloman).
