Rudy O. "Marty", a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Salas; one daughter, Suzanne Salas-Chavez and husband Eddie; two grandsons; Brenden and Landon Chavez; He is also survived by his father; Joseph Martinez; sister Cindi Graeber and husband Jerry; brother; Robert Martinez; and other brothers and sisters: Angie Sisneros and husband Albert, Eliseo Padilla, Melba Rivera and husband Bernie, Therese Padilla, Benny Salas and wife Sandy, and Tony Salas; He had numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was a graduate of Valley High School and a graduate of UNM. Marty served in the military where he earned the rank of staff sergeant. He was a Certified Financial Planner and in the financial business for the past 25 years. He was an avid sports fan and favored the Dallas Cowboys. He was a voracious reader and a history buff. Marty loved anyone that crossed his path and lived his life by the Golden Rule, treating others as he wanted to be treated. He was greatly loved and respected by all who knew him. His greatest pleasure and love was spending time with Brenden, Landon, Suzanne and Dee. His favorite truism was "actions speak louder than words". He and Dee traveled extensively throughout their lives together, often with their various family members. A Memorial Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 6:00 p.m., at French-Westside, 9300 Golf Course NW. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE, with ennichment to follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park.
