Gilbert Eugene Sedillo Age 68, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. He is preceded in death by parents, Fernando and Francis Sedillo; brothers, Freddie and Martin Sedillo; sister, Agnes Marquez; step-son, David Lopez; nephews, Michael and Gabrielle DeLaFuente; and niece, Elizabeth Sedillo. He is survived by son, Gilbert L. Sedillo; sister, Rosie DeLaFuente and husband, Moe; stepchildren, Tim Lopez, and wife Susan, Andrew Lopez and wife Kalena, and Rose Lopez; grandchildren, Joe and Daniel Abeln, Chayna Martinez, son Sebastian, David Lopez Jr., Christopher Lopez, Olivia, Valentea, Paget, Durban and Summer Lopez; nephews and nieces; Alicia DeLaFuente, son Richardo Ramirez and granddaughter Marissa, Albert Marquez, sons Gabriel and Albert Jr., Gino Marquez , daughter Desiree and son Gino Jr., Michele Gutierrez and Garrick, Richardo, Bernadette and Madiano. Gilbert was a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, NM living in Old Town and North Valley area. He served as a marine in the military for four years and supported his service as an active member of the VFW, DAV and American Legion where he would go dancing and visit with friends. He was an avid outdoors man and loved to go fishing, camping and hunting. He took great pride in teaching his children, grandchildren and family how to fish although no one could outdo him! Baseball was his favorite sport. He loved to play softball, and for many years was a manager. He had a lifetime full of family and friends who loved him, leaving fond memories for each of them. He had tremendous love for his only son, Gilbert, who reciprocated his love by taking care of him for several years. He will be truly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at San Felipe Catholic Church in Old Town.
