Obituary for GINERIS

Angelo J. Gineris, 77, a fifty three year resident of Albuquerque, NM was called home to our heavenly Father on Monday, November 8, 2010, with his loving family at his side. Angelo or (A.J.) as he was best known to his friends, was an entrepreneur, businessman, automobile dealer, real estate broker, restaurateur, innovator and U.S. patent holder. A.J., a graduate of De Paul University, arrived in Albuquerque with his new wife Priscilla from Chicago in 1957 to open an office with Ernst and Ernst. In the early 60's he created with partners the franchise real estate concept Real Estate Company of America or (RECA). In the late 60's he began to import for sale the Suzuki automobile from a Southern California dealership. In the 70's, A.J. became the youngest Porsche-Audi dealer in the US, as owner of Gineris Porsche Audi on Wyoming in Albuquerque, which brought the first Audi automobiles to New Mexico. In addition to his brokerage activities as a commercial real estate broker with companies Gineris Realty, Inc, and later AJ Commercial Real Estate, A.J. founded a number of businesses including in the 80's La Margarita Restaurant and First Commercial Escrow Title Company. In 1993 and 1994, A.J. applied for and received from the U.S. Patent Office patent number 5285384 entitled The Payroll Trust Check (PTC#, a system and method for isolating and automating the transfer of tax withholdings to the appropriate tax withholding accounts. A.J. was a onetime city council candidate in Albuquerque and was active in community activities including support in the 70's for the Albuquerque Dodgers. In 2007, A.J. and his wife Priscilla celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. Gineris was born on November 3, 1933 to James and Maria (Grammatikakis) Gineris of Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Capt. Peter James Gineris #USAF), Stella Scatchell, Steve Gineris, Louis Generis, and Athena Roupas. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Priscilla Gineris; children, Marc A. Gineris and his wife, Jean, of Dallas, TX and New York City, NY, Dr. Beth Gineris and her husband, Dr. Ron Romanik, of Albuquerque, NM, and Peter James Gineris, II. of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Kate Mary Sophia Romanik and Joseph Maxwell Romanik; sisters, Sylvia Katsuleas and Helen Durham; and many nieces and nephews. A Viewing and Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM with the Trisagion beginning at 6:00 PM on Monday, November 15, at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 16, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 308 High Street SE, Albuquerque. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
