Michael George Garcia, 44 passed away suddenly on Monday 25th, October 2010 at ABQ Partners Urgent Care Facility. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico Mike attended Sandia High School and went on to be in the Army for two years where he served in the 82nd Airborne Division. In later years, Mike spent five years living in Las Vegas and further travelled to New Zealand in February 1999 to meet his future wife. Mike loved New Zealand and made it home where he established his own business, "Mikes Auto Graphics Ltd". He built his business effectively and it thrived as he took pride in the work he produced. Mikes business success is to be credited to his high aptitude, knowledge and talent he possessed naturally within himself. Mike took up a hobby in paragliding. He enjoyed jumping from cliff tops and paragliding onto the wonderful coastal beaches of New Zealand. Mike returned to the States in August 2005 where he joined the team at Century Sign Builders. During the four years with this company he has worked his way through from being in charge of the Vinyl Production to Wholesale Customer Service which he continuously strived to do the best job possible. He married his beloved wife in May 2008, in Albuquerque, New Mexico whom he was devoted to and loved unconditionally. Their intention was to eventually move back to New Zealand at which point Karen would be a USA citizen and Mike would be granted his Permanent Residency and further to gaining citizenship of New Zealand which was also home to him. Mike adored their four legged baby Shaelah passionately. She was his "baby girl" and "my puppy" as he would affectionately call her. She was so precious to him and he loved her exceptionally. Mike is survived by his wife Karen and her four children, Kylie, Jaynie, Sophie and Brodie. His Mom Clara and Dad Danny, his sister Christine (Sugie) and her husband Lanny, his niece Janelle and her husband Julian, their two children Elicea and Michael, his nephews Matt and Zack. His grandparents, Gramma Eloisa, Grampa Zack and Gramma Lola. He is also survived by many Aunties, Uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Doreen, father-in-law Nick, and brother-in-law Gary. A viewing and Rosary Service is to be held on Saturday 30th, October at Salazar and Sons Mortuary, 400 3rd St SW, viewing between 5pm--6.30pm, Rosary Service 6.30pm 7.30pm and a private viewing for his wife Karen from 7.30pm- 8.00pm. There will be a Sunday Service to be held at the Chapel at Hotel Albuquerque, 800 Rio Grande Blvd, at 1pm followed by a Reception at Century Sign Builders, 2117 Commercial St, NE.
