Obituary for VAN CLEVE

Monette Van Cleve, 93, a longtime resident of Albuquerque passed peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 20, 2010. She is survived by her children, Gary, Greg (Susan), Gretchen (Steven); her grandchildren, Gregory (Jill), Rachael, Megan, Madison, and Maci; and the anticipated birth of her first great-grandchild; her sister, Mary Ledford; Monette's extended family includes, many nieces, nephews, and beloved in-laws, John, Phyliss, Helen and Don; as well as her step-daughter and family, Gail (Amos), David Tracy, Colleen (Robert), Sara, Samuel, Joesph, and Pasquale. She was born in Woodville, Oklahoma on September 29, 1917, to the late John and Hattie Mae Coffee. Monette began her teaching career in the early 1940's on the Arizona Hopi Reservation. She continued her career here in Albuquerque at Lew Wallace Elementary School and retired from Chelwood Elementary School in 1980. She was a devoted member of the Mountainside Church of Christ (formerly Penn Street Church of Christ) and faithful servant for 56 years. Her family would like to thank her church family for their many years of love and support shown to Monette and Gary. She was known for her selflessness, sense of humor, and great cooking. Monette will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, mentor, and friend. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. "Wednesday's will never be the same Grandma!" Her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at Mountainside Church of Christ, 12300 Indian School Rd. NE.
