Don L. Starr, 76, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 in Denver, Colorado. He was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on October 23, 1933. Don called the southwest his home, growing up in Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma. He honorably served 22 years in the US Navy and then settled in New Mexico. He is survived by his five daughters, Linda Sweeten, Brenda Thurman, Rae Heck, Rachel Starr and Cathryn Starr - Robertson; six grandchildren, Shane Mayes, Cody Sweeten, Richard Thurman, Lauren Heck, Seth Heck, and Aaron Heck; four great - grandchildren, Angelique Mayes, Camber Mayes, Donovan Thurman and Alizabeth Thurman; and one adopted son, James Starr. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, August Lavery. Services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010, 10:00 a.m., at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual Blvd. NE.
