Roger E. Mikeal, 72, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2010 with his loving family by his side. Mr. Mikeal was born on November 23, 1937 to Malta and Mabel (Wilson) Mikeal of Amarillo, TX. He moved to the Albuquerque area in 1960 and was a math teacher at Rio Grande High School, El Dorado High School, Sandia High School, Valley High School, Washington Middle School and TV-I. He was, also, employed by Sandia National Labs for two years and taught in California and Nevada. He will be remembered for his love of telling jokes, eating, traveling, dancing, fishing, and hunting. Mr. Mikeal had a very big heart and was a very generous spirit. He was a very meticulous person. Most importantly, he loved his family very much. Mr. Mikeal was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of seven years, Margaret Mikeal of Albuquerque, NM; his daughters, Deborah Gonzales and her husband, Frank, of Corrales, NM, and Valerie Lind and her husband, Rob, of Albuquerque, NM; stepchildren, Melinda Cash and her husband, Jesse, of Rio Rancho, NM, Patricia Harris and her husband, Mark, of Rio Rancho, NM, and Mark Tafoya of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Sarah Scott, Amanda Scott, Allison Scott, Brody Lind, Jonah Cash, Merina Cash, Kathryn Harris, Brittney Harris, Monique Tafoya, and Mariah Tafoya; and a brother, George Wilson and his wife, Nancy, of Dallas, TX. A Viewing and Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 1100 Coal Ave SE with Rev. Antonio Medina officiating. Mr. Mikeal will then be laid to rest at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale SE. Pallbearers will be Mark Tafoya, Mark Harris, Jonah Cash, Sarah Scott, Amanda Scott, and Allison Scott; Honorary Pallbearers will be Jesse Cash and Brody Lind.
