Joan Barlow Douglas, 79, resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1969, died Saturday, September 11, 2010. She is survived by her four children, Cathleen Hemphill, John Douglas, Karen Robillard, Michelle Heaphy and their families. Joan was born, October 13, 1930 and raised in Charleston, SC. She married the love of her life in 1950, a handsome Citadel Cadet, John J. Douglas whom preceded her in death. The family traveled the world and she loved to tell of their adventures. An inspiring elementary school teacher for 26 years and a good friend to many; she will always hold a place in our hearts. A celebration of her life and Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010, 2:00 p.m., at French - University Chapel.
