Obituary for SANCHEZ

Robert R. "Bob" Sanchez, Sr., age 89, of Albuquerque, died peacefully Friday, October 8, 2010. Robert is survived by sons; Robert Sanchez, James Sanchez and wife Barbara, Dennis Sanchez and wife Beth, David Sanchez and wife Rita; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Candice, Jamie, Demarre, Andrew, Marisa, Michael, Max, and Dennis, all of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, London and Riley; brother, Benny Sanchez; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Sally, his beloved wife of 53 years, and he died on what would have been their 65th anniversary. Bob served his country honorably in the US Navy in WWII in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Just before discharge from the Navy, he married Sally Roybal. After the war, they moved to Santa Fe, where they lived for eight years. In 1953, they returned to Albuquerque. Bob became a civil servant at Kirtland AFB where he retired in 1986. He was a very generous and loving husband and father, and was an avid Lobo fanatic. A rosary will be recited Monday, October 11, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at French Lomas Chapel. A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl SE with entombment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
