Obituary for STANFIELD

Donald Ray Stanfield was born, May 22, 1961 in Portales, New Mexico. After high school, Don joined the United States Navy and later returned to work in the oil fields of Southern New Mexico. He became manager of Specialty Foods in Tampa, FL. While in Florida, he met the love of his life, Cindy. They moved to Wisconsin where he began working for Wal Mart distribution center. He, Cindy, and their daughter Caitlin were transferred to Los Lunas. He studied electricity and wiring at CNM, and worked for both National Lighting Company and National Electric in Albuquerque where he was employed at the time of his death. He enjoyed the out of doors: hiking, camping, golf, hunting, and fishing. He was a passionate and an enthusiastic fan of the Miami Dolphins. Don had a gentle spirit, loved his family, and enjoyed working. Don is survived by his wife, Cindy and daughter, Caitlin of Los Lunas; father, Clyde Stanfield and wife, Barbara; brother, Richard; sister, Sherri Frayer, and niece, Stacia, all of Albuquerque; step sisters, Jennifer Quintenz and husband, James Berry, and Amanda Quintenz-Fiedler and husband, Steve all of Southern CA; his aunt, Gladys Thomas of Grady, NM and numerous Stanfield cousins; mother and father-in-law, Mary and John Thalacker of Eau Claire, WI; sisters-in-law, Lori Mickelson of Eau Claire, WI, Tamie Freseth of Altoona, WI, and Terri Hoover of Murfreesboro, TN; brother-in-law, John Thalacker of Menomonie, WI; nieces, Kori Mickelson, Holly Thalacker, Myssy Thalacker, Jenna Brandenburg, Amanda Thalacker, and nephew, Adam Thalacker; uncle, Glen Ezell, of Roswell, NM; aunt, Glenna Smith and husband, Bill of Daytona Beach, FL; and cousin, Brent Smith-Casanueva and wife, Valarie of Albuquerque. Don was preceded in death by his mother, Gaylon Joy Ezell Stanfield. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010, 10:00 a.m., at St. Johns United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010, 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m., at French - University.
