Obituary for MASON

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday October 08, 2010

Christine "Tita" L. Mason, age 76, beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, October 4, 2010. She was born in La Jara, NM, to Amadeo and Dulcinea (Salazar) Lovato, on February 23, 1934, and was a long time resident of New Mexico. Christine's greatest treasure above all else was her beloved family. For Christine there was no greater joy than spending time with her loved ones and even though she claimed to hate cooking she did it cheerfully and constantly for everyone. She did everything with her infectious smile, which she was never without. She also loved shopping, more so for those she loved than for herself. Christine was almost as generous with catalogue purchased gifts as she was with her love. She had a genuinely generous soul. Any one who knows Christine, also knows that her home like her appearance was always immaculate and beautiful, especially her hair, never a strand out of place. Christine was predeceased by her parents; her husband James "Jim" Mason; her siblings, Olivia De Herrera, Robert Lovato and Frank Lovato. She is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara Agahi and husband Manny and Viola Newman and husband Roger; her beloved grandchildren, Valerie, Arman, Kamron, Christa, Courtney, Cheyanne, James, and Jaxon; her great-granddaughter Megan; her siblings, Mildred Valdez, Eddie Lovato and wife Mary Jane, Darlene Sandoval and Randy Lovato and wife Angelina; her brother-in-law, Felimon De Herrera; and her sisters-in-law, Nora Lovato and Linda Lovato; and "her boys", Karl and Albert, whom she considered her sons; and many dearly loved nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Christine will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those who knew and loved her. A Funeral Service will be conducted Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 12:00 p.m., at the Alameda Mortuary Chapel.
