Obituary for HUNTER

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday October 08, 2010

Hilda May "Mickie" Hunter, a longtime resident of the Albuquerque area, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 3, 2010. She was born at home in Carbon, Iowa on September 27, 1923 to Dolly Armstrong and Robert Dicks but was raised by her stepfather, Red Gale. Hilda spent her youth in Carbon and attended school there. She later was a stay at home mom, raising and caring for her children. In 1969, she began to work at Polk Middle School in Albuquerque as a cafeteria lady until her retirement with APS. Hilda had lived in the same house in Albuquerque since 1953. She loved baking, sewing, socializing and spending time with her beloved family. At any given time you could find any one of her great-grandchildren at her house spending time with her. She loved telling her life stories to so many loved ones. It would be hard to find anyone else in this world that was as well loved as her. Hilda is survived by her two sons Ivan James (Jim) Hunter and his wife Vonnie, and Marvin Wayne Hunter, Sr.; younger sister, Reda Kay Hauptman; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. A visitation for Hilda will be Saturday, October 9, 2010, 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 p.m., at Daniels Family Funeral Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd. SE (within Vista Verde Memorial Park), Rio Rancho with longtime family friend Frank Dennisson officiating. Entombment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be James Hunter, Shan Hunter, Wayne Hunter, Jeff Hunter, Trey Hunter and Levi Hunter. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.danielsfuneral.com. Arrangements are entrusted to: Daniels Family Funeral Service 4310 Sara Road SE Rio Rancho, New Mexico 87124 505-892-9920
