Fred Albert Collatz, Jr., 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, born May 31, 1926 in Chicago, IL, passed away on September 29, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Annabelle; son Arlan Collatz and wife Mary Alice; daughter, Kathy McDonald and husband James; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Andrea, Barbara, Deborah, Robert, Stephanie, Scott, and; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Bobbie Bodor, and extended family members and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Albert, Sr. and Miriam Collatz; and his son, Dr. Fred Albert Collatz III. A soldier, teacher, and entrepreneur, Fred loved music, gardening, and his family. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at French, Lomas Chapel 10500 Lomas Blvd NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel Ave NE, 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 6, 2010.
