Joseph Barbara, 88, of Albuquerque passed away peacefully on September 16, 2010 at his home with his family at his side. He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Vivona; his nieces, Josephine Valicenti and Palma Kooch; and nephews, Peter J. Vivona and Jack J. Vivona. Joseph served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He continued his service in the Civil Service Air Force as Chief Contracting Officer. Friends and family may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A Catholic Prayer service and committal will follow at 2:00 p.m., in the Chester T.
