Addie "Zelma" Loop Royster went to be with Jesus September 1, 2010 at the age of 94. Zelma was born in Detroit, Michigan, June 1, 1916. She met her sweetheart, Ernie, in the third grade and their love for each other spanned almost 83 years until his death, April 30, 2007. They were raised in Michigan, and settled in Albuquerque in 1949. Together they owned and operated Albuquerque Floor & Wall Tile Company until their retirement in 1979, whereupon, Zelma and Ernie traveled around the U.S. for many years. Zelma was active in womens' ministry in several Independent Christian Churches. She was an accomplished seamstress, hostess for family and friends at holidays and special occasions and baker extraordinaire. Known as a great lover and caregiver of children, she will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by son David in 1981. She is survived by sons; Ronald and wife Kay of Albuquerque, Thomas and wife Sherry of California, daughter-in-law Libby of Florida; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and friends, including her life-long friend Hazel Galonski Reintlaler of Kentucky. A Celebration of New Life took place on September 3, 2010 at the Sunset Mausoleum Chapel, followed by a graveside service, officiated by Pastor Don Wilson. Pallbearers were grandsons Randy Royster and Scott Royster, great-grandsons Francisco Raby-Mondragon, Richard Keilbarth and Victor Gonzalez and friend and caregiver, Patrick Gutierrez.
