Frederick R Allen, 83 passed away September 3, 2010. A WWII veteran, he graduated from UNM in 1948 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He started working for the State Engineer in 1954 as supervisor of hydrographic surveys. In 1971 he was appointed Team Leader of the Technical Division. During that time he was also the Hearing Officer for a number of cases before the State Engineer and several jurisdictions. In 1984 after his retirement from the State Engineer, he worked as an engineer for Tri-state. He is survived by his wife of 63yrs, Connie Allen; his three sons, Roland Allen, Ken Allen and wife Linda, and Fred Allen; his two daughters, Frieda White and Diana Kerley; his grandchildren, Dustin Allen, Scot and Melissa White, Ken and Kim White, Robbie and Sharmi Kerkey, Jennifer and Mike Kerley, James and Beth Kerley. He also has six great-grandchildren. He was a beloved husband and father who will be greatly missed. Funeral mass will be held at Risen Savior Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 10:00 am. Viewing will be from 9:00 - 10:00 am.
