Shirley Jean (Bischoff) Miller, 88, died August 21, 2010, in Albuquerque. She was born April 20, 1922, in Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar, who passed away in 1965. She is survived by her sons, David and his wife Mary, Thomas and his wife Martha, Gregory and his wife Toni, Christopher and a son from a second marriage, Douglas; She also is survived by her grandchildren, Kendra, Lucas, Justine, Jacquelyn, Dennis, Caitlyn, Brett and Emily. Jean lived the early part of her life in Chicago and later moved to Elkhart, IN, with her brother Johnny. She graduated from Elkhart High School in 1940, when she married Edgar. She and Edgar immediately started a family, which was interrupted during WWII when Edgar served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific. They moved to Albuquerque in 1956. Jean worked at Sandia National Laboratories, later as a realtor, and retired in 2002 after 13 years at the Highland Senior Center. She was an avid bridge player and treasured the many hours she played with friends. Interment will take place on September 10, 2010 at 3:00 p.m., at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, where she will lie with her beloved Edgar.
