Obituary for SMITH

John Terrell Smith, born January 20, 1931, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Known as Terry by his friends and family, he was born in Clovis, New Mexico and was a life long resident of New Mexico. Terry graduated from Los Lunas High School. Terry loved to fish, hunt and drive his boat. His hobbies included grilling, telling fishing stories, and spending time with his family and playing his guitar. He came from a long line of rail roaders working for and retiring from AT & SF railroad. He served our country in the Navy during the Korean War and was a proud and patriotic man as well as a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grand father. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bobbie Smith of Belen, NM; two daughters, Kim and Rich Casford of Chama, NM, Kelly and Rusty Collins of Belen, NM; seven grandchildren, Kirby and Andrew Maragulia of Oakridge, NJ, Kyle Wendland and Katie Dosert of Colorao Springs, CO, Eric and Sarah Caffrey of Bosque Farms, NM, and Shelby Flowers of Whittier, CA; two great grand children, Emma Maragulia and Larissa Caffrey; two brothers, one sister, many nieces and nephews, and friends that he considered family. Service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at French - University, with visitation to start at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM with Celebration of Life to follow at Sunrise Bluffs Clubhouse in Belen, NM.
