Rafaelita Silva, age 85, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a strong woman who lived with love, peace and joy and went with dignity and grace. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Eduardo "Lalo" Silva; her parents, Enrique and Felicita Sandoval; her son, Robert; sister, Tillie Auge and brothers, Albert, Henry, Jimmy and Ernest. Rafaelita is survived by her sisters, Mary Atencio and Esther Flores; brothers, Eloy and Danny Sandoval; five loving daughters, Sister Eva Silva OP, Victoria Wilger and husband, Jack, Felice Cervantes and husband, Jose, Gloria Ortiz and husband, Michael and Angela Baum and husband, Fred; loving grandchildren, Robert, Trinidad, Sonya, Jason, Rosa Isela, Marisol, Rocio, Jose, Jesus, Cristina, Juanita, Jessica, Micah, Matthew and Ian and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her special friend and caretaker, Mary Baca. All services will take place at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, beginning with a viewing at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2010, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010 with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
