Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday July 29, 2010

Nelline Medora Mauldin Wyche went to be with our Lord and her heavenly family on July 22, 2010 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix Sanford and Mattie Mauldin; two brothers, Glenn and Earl Mauldin; and her beloved husband of 68 years, James Bryce Wyche. She is survived by her son Fred Wyche and wife Monica; her daughter Martha Sullins and husband Dennis; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; one sister, LaVerne Bratcher; one brother, Gayle Mauldin; plus many extended family members and friends. Nelline retired from the University of New Mexico in 1983 where she had worked as a lab technician. Prior to that she worked for APS. She believed her most important job was caring for her husband and family. Nelline will be remembered for her devotion to God. She welcomed strangers into her home and fed them with the same love and care as she did her own family. She was famous for her home cooked meals and desserts. We were privileged to have Nelline as an example of a truly godly mother and wife. May the Christian heritage she brought to this family continue for generations to come. The family wishes to thank the loving and caring people at Presbyterian Hospice who held our hands through this long journey. A viewing will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010 at French Mortuary on University Blvd. from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pastor Bernie Frazier will officiate funeral services on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary on University Blvd. Internment is at the cemetery in Stanley, New Mexico.
