Obituary for JOHNSON

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday July 14, 2010

Kathryn Elizabeth Johnson of Albuquerque passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 after a short illness. She will be remembered as being vibrant and happy to the very end. A perpetual optimist, the world will be a sadder place without her to brighten it for us. Kay loved to travel, and in her travels, she took up residence in several southwestern states. She developed many lifelong friendships during her travels; by these friends she will be loved, remembered and missed. She is survived by her brother Russell and wife Jean Hedman of Bremerton, WA; son Gerald and wife Theresa Johnson of Albuquerque, NM; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Harold and Verna Hedman; four brothers, Harold, Charles, James, and Wallace Hedman; her daughter, Pamela Johnson; and most recently, by her beloved cat Lucy. She goes now to join those who have gone before her and to prepare a place for those she has left behind. Godspeed, beloved sister and mother. Thank You for brightening our lives. You will always be remembered, cherished and loved. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 16, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. at Riverside Funeral Home. Eulogy will be performed by Reverand Andre Singletary at 7:00 p.m. Following the eulogy, memories will be shared at the home of Gerald and Theresa Johnson. Arrangements by Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo Blvd NE, 505-764-9663.
