Antoinette Marie Hernandez, 95, passed away July 12, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Antoinette was born in New York City, NY on February 27, 1915 to Michael Angelo and Antoinette (Fiorello) Lettieri. Antoinette lost her mother when she was only 40 days old to influenza. Until she was nine years old and went to live with her father, Antoinette lived in different foster care homes, but mainly she lived with one Italian family. Antoinette went to school in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 24, she met her husband at the Roseland Ballroom where she would go dancing with her brother Mike, and his wife, Sophie. They married in Brooklyn in 1939 and their son, Michael was born in 1941. The family moved to Los Angeles in 1955 and then to Albuquerque in 1980. Antoinette worked as a seamstress, sewing everything from leather gloves and children's shoes to swimsuits, sportswear and lingerie. She was preceded in death by her husband, "Miguel" Angelo; and grandson, Ryan Anthony. She is survived by her son, Michael Anthony and his wife, Katherine; grandson Loren Anthony; granddaughter Krista Doherty and her family; a nephew Louis Lettieri; and niece Carol Lettieri and her husband.
