Obituary for SANCHEZ

Benjamin Jose Sanchez, age (51), beloved son, father, brother, and uncle, was called home to be with his Savior Jesus on, July 6, 2010. Ben was born at the Cradle Home on Don Gaspar St. in Santa Fe, NM on March 3, 1959 to Don Jose Sanchez and Aurora Cordova Sanchez. He was one of a perfect dozen. Benjamin "Ben" had five brothers: Antonio L. Sanchez, Andres E. Sanchez, Bernardo M. Sanchez, Carlos J. Sanchez, and Cristobal A. Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez had six sisters: Angelina L. Sprague, Agatha M. Allen, Jeanette A. Sanchez, Alicia M. Ericson, Maria B. Sanchez, and Catarina Phillips. Ben married Bernadette Romero and is survived by his children Adam, Amanda, and Jacob Sanchez; grandson Lamont Avan Ben Woods Sanchez; in-laws, Tito Romero, Martha M. Romero, and the Romero family. Ben was blessed with many wonderful in-laws, loving nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews and was very proud of each one of their accomplishments. Ben attended St. Anne's Church and served as an altar boy and later on the St. Anne's choir. Ben attended St. Anne's Catholic School and then attended St. Michael's High School where he played football and wrestled. He graduated from St. Mike's in 1977. Ben enlisted in the U.S. Navy in February 1979 and served on the USS Truxton CGN-35 in Engineering Maintenance. He received an honorable discharge in June 1983. Mr. Sanchez received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Kennedy-Western University while working at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Oakridge National Laboratory. Ben and Bernadette owned and operated the Sierra Vista Window Cleaning. Ben has gone to join his father, Deacon Jose F. Sanchez. Ben will be remembered for his wonderful smile, compassionate, loving heart, generosity to those around him, and his love of Notre Dame Football. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anne's Church. Interment will follow in Santa Fe at the 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. A Reception will be held at 5:00 p.m. at St. Anne's Church Parish Hall. Donations will be accepted on behalf of his children by Carlos J. Sanchez, 1149 Reynosa Loop, Rio Rancho, New Mexico 87124.
