Dorothy Lee Finkelstein passed away June 25, 2010 at her home in the East Mountains. She was born October 28, 1931 to Anna Lee and John Roach in St. Mary's in-the-Woods, IN. She graduated from Albuquerque High Class of 1949. She married in 1959 and traveled about the world, settling in the Minneapolis, MN area for 40 years before retiring with her husband back to the East Mountains in 2006. She continued her passion for gardening and watercolor painting and displayed at the NM State Fair and other venues as a member of the NM Watercolor Society & the East Mtn. Artists Assoc. She is survived by her husband, Arthur B. Finkelstein; her sister, Donna and husband Clark Schaffner; Dorothy's daughter Terry and husband, Steve Cook and their children, C. Brad Cook, C. Todd Cook, Erin and husband, Capt. Personius, Dorothy's daughter, Linda Finkelstein; son John Finkelstein, his daughter Pam and husband Mark Haryn and Dorothy's great-grandchildren, Zachary and Samantha Haryn. Viewing for friends and family is Monday, June 28, 2010 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Riverside Mortuary, 225 San Mateo Blvd NE. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church Chapel, 201 University Blvd NE. Internment at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE is immediately after the Service and Reception follows at the church. Arthur requests donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
