Obituary for CONSLA

Allen Brooks Consla, 74, a resident of Albuquerque for 43 years, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Louise; four children, Debra Hagler and husband, James of Chandler, AZ, Charles Consla and wife, Deborah of Universal City, TX, David Consla and wife, Claudia of Albuquerque, and Jennifer Consla of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Amanda, Jordan, Lauren, Erin, Austin, Allyson, and Kevin; brothers, Daniel Consla and wife Jerilyn of FL and Thomas Consla of PA; several aunts, nieces and nephews; and many friends. Allen was born on December 27, 1935 in Kittanning, PA to Claude and Florence Patton Consla and graduated from Kittanning High School in 1953. He then entered the United States Air Force where he was trained to be a Federal Air Traffic Controller. Allen went to work for the FAA in January 1958 until his retirement in August 1986. After retirement he worked for DISC as a software engineer for 15 years, retiring a second time in 2001. Allen belonged to a computer group, Golden Oldies, with whom he spent many happy hours communicating. He enjoyed his dogs, had a dry sense of humor, and was a life long supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Allen was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at French--Wyoming Chapel, Sunday, June 27, 2010, 6:00 p.m. Private Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. His family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Humane Assoc of NM, 615 Virginia SE.
