Obituary for ROBART

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday June 20, 2010

Rosemary (Rosa) Elva Robart, 83, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away at her daughter's home on Sunday, June 13, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Rosemary was born on December 26, 1926, to Oreste (Popo) Giovanni Marteno and Dominica (Minnie) Riccon Marteno, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Myron C. Robart; son, David Robart and wife Lark; daughter, Myrene Eklund and husband, Roger; grandsons, Ryan Eklund and wife Betsy and Eric Eklund; great-granddaughter, Taylor Eklund; and one sister, Betty Lamberti. She also had many wonderful friends. Rosemary was a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a "second mother" to many neighborhood children, offering advice, support, and unconditional love to them through the years, and later became a "grandmother" to their children. She held various jobs throughout her early life, but mostly was a wonderful homemaker and cook. Everyone remembers her delicious cinnamon toast and French toast. She loved family gatherings and watching soap operas and discussing them with her dear friend, Mackie. Rosemary will be deeply missed by many. The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff of the ER and 8th floor step-down unit of Lovelace Medical Center for their professional, respectful and compassionate care of Rosemary over the past year (especially the last 6 months during her numerous hospital admissions). Our heartfelt thanks go to VistaCare Hospice for the loving care they showed Rosemary and the comfort they provided Rosa and her family. A special thank you to Eliana L. Vehar, Chaplain, VistaCare, for her understanding, patience and comforting words, and to Lark Sheridan with Alliance Home Health Care for her gentle care, kindness and friendship. A celebration of Rosemary's life will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 10,000 Candelaria Rd. NE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in memory of Rosemary be made to VistaCare Hospice, 5639 Jefferson St. N.E., Albuquerque, NM 87109, Asbury United Methodist Church, 10,000 Candelaria Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112, or to the charity of your choice.
