Clyde Mitchell Dubbs. Clyde Mitchell Dubbs, born October 21, 1933, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 11, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents Strow and Clesta Mitchell Dubbs, brother Walter (Jack) Barton and sister Clesta Mae Banes. He is survived by his daughters, Beth LeVane (Tim) of Loveland, CO and Meg Burdette (David) of McKinney, TX, brothers Strow of San Antonio, TX and Donald Keith (Betty) of Mineola, TX and sisters Dorothy Townsend of Yuma, AZ, Nancy Greeley of Grand Terrace, CA and Beverly Lee (Jim) of Cape Fair, MO. Clyde was loved by his family, friends, students, neighbors and cats. He was a Korean War era veteran, cyclist and retired Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, where he taught for 32 years. He is best remembered by his former students for his trademark "vandyke" beard and his personable teaching style. In his own words, "My goal was to generate an enthusiasm for learning in my students. I tried to show them where the value lies in what they're studying and where the joy is in it as well."
