Raymond E. ("Ray") McCamey. On June 15, 2010, at age 70, Ray passed away at VistaCare inpatient Hospice after a long battle with lung cancer. The youngest of eight children, Ray grew up in Albuquerque, graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1958, married Mary Jane Teel in 1964 and had one daughter, Lori M. Bencoe. Ray enjoyed a long career in the commercial vehicle sales and service industry, first with Cummins Rio Grande (1958-1980's), and most recently as a salesman of International buses and trucks at Roberts Truck Center. He enjoyed his family, cars, trucks and the trucking business, fishing, home projects and the outdoors - especially driving around New Mexico. Ray had a fun, dry sense of humor and a generous heart, always wanting to help others when he could share his time and abilities. Ray is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Jane and by his daughter Lori Bencoe and husband Dave Bencoe, and grandson Troy (age 8). He is also survived by his sister Jackie Fritz and husband Lonnie; sister Billie Goodwin; sister Shirley Stott, and numerous extended family members. He was predeceased by brothers, Nelson McCamey and John McCamey and sisters, Geneva Higgins, Blanche Brown, and parents, Bill and Pearl McCamey, also of Albuquerque. His family gives a special thanks to Dennie Jones MD, his Oncologist; Lara Barkoff MD, his Internist; Gerard Muraida, MD, his Hospice Physician, and the nurses and therapists who cared so closely for his needs. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephens United Methodist Church, 4601 Juan Tabo NE in Albuquerque on Saturday June 19 at 10:00 A.M., with Pastor Russell Lee officiating.
