John R. Busich, 82, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 13, 2010. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara J. Lucero and husband, Jesse, and Julie Averna; son, Matthew Busich and wife, Kim; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Mildred Busich. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Margaret. John proudly served his country and was a World War II Navy Veteran, a member of Plumbers-Pipefitters Union Local 412 for 62 years, and an APD Volunteer for 8 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to Las Vegas NV, and watching his favorite sports teams, the Chicago Bears and Bulls. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, 7:00 p.m., at French - University Chapel, friends may visit one hour prior to rosary. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 17, 2010, 8:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont NE. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Chicago IL on June 18, 2010. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Suite 300, 87111.
